We don’t want to be controversial with that title, we are just stating the results of the annual survey carried out by Italian magazine Italia Oggi, in collaboration with the Università La Sapienza, in Rome. Parma was selected as the city with the best quality of life in the country, a result that took many by surprise, considering how, on the previous year’s list, Parma had only reached the 39th position.
Quite a feat, then, that came after the year spent as Italian Capital of Culture, which guaranteed Parma visibility, funding, and the opportunity to scrub up even more nicely than it usually does. But giving to this all the merit of Parma’s incredible climb to the top would be unfair.
