The boys and girls of the Marco Polo Institute in Palermo have started a volunteer project to assist individuals serving sentences in social housing facilities in their city. This project was created to promote social integration and mutual support between young people and those who are deprived of their freedom.
The students, guided by their teachers, dedicate part of their free time to providing support and companionship for the residents of these facilities. These activities include organizing creative workshops, assisted study sessions, and leisure moments such as games, shared readings, writing, and discussions.
