Overall, the Italian wood and furniture industry restarted to grow in 2015 for the first time after seven years (if we exclude the "little rebound" of 2010), with production growth at 2.6%, not solely due to the foreign markets (very dynamic, with a rise around 6%), but also to the domestic one that recovered about 1% in a year.
The 2016 forecasts are positive, expecting the consolidation of some dynamics started in 2015: beginning with the building sector's restart (ANCE foresees +1% this year), the confirmation of fiscal incentives for renovations and furniture purchase, extended also to young couples even without maintenance works.
