USNS Trenton Arrives in Naples, Strengthening US-Italy Naval Ties and Exploring Cultural Riches

The USNS Trenton (T-EPF 5), a Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship, recently made headlines with its scheduled port visit to Naples, Italy, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between the United States Navy and its Italian counterparts. This visit not only underscores the strategic importance of US naval presence in the Mediterranean but also offers the crew a chance to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Naples.

On February 28 a significant meeting took place aboard the USNS Trenton, marking a moment of strategic dialogue between the US and Italy. Capt. Kenneth Pickard, commodore of Commander, Task Force 63, Military Sealift Command Europe Africa, alongside Capt. Todd Hiller and other distinguished members, was hosted by the ship's master Matthew Salas and the military detachment's officer in charge, Cmdr. Damon W. Bateson II.
