At least 18% of couples in Italy decide to marry in June, a survey by the Monza chamber of commerce showed Monday. And while the overall number of weddings has declined 16% since 2009, the wedding business is a constantly growing sector worth some seven billion euros.
Salerno with its romantic Amalfi coast is the province with the highest incidence of weddings – as many as 4.6 on average for every 1,000 inhabitants compared to just 2.4 for every 1,000 in Milan, where the marriage rate is the lowest in the country.
