The first quarter 2022 was marked by growth in international wine trade. French wines exports allow France to be first in the rankings, following the record reached in 2021 when sales exceeded 11 billion.
According to Nomisma research firm figures, Italy is second in the ranking thanks mainly to the increase in sales of its sparkling wines (up 36 percent from the first quarter of 2021). France’s and the US wine exports increased by +24% over 2021, and Italy’s by +19%.
