It looks like a good time for the growth of e-commerce in the Italian wine business, a sector that's currently worth €24 million in purchase of domestic and foreign wines, about 0.2% of the total wine market. But, according to a joint study by the Svinando Wine Club, the University of Turin and the online wine store Piuvino.it, that figure could rise to as high as €200 million over the next five years.
In France, the market most similar to Italy in terms of production and consumption of wine, revenue has already passed €850 million, with a 10% share of the overall retail market.
