
On this episode of You Me and Sicily we take you to Santo Stefano di Camastra in the Province of Messina. The present day town was founded in 1683 Giuseppe Lanza, Duke of Camastra, who rebuilt the town after a terrible landslide that destroyed the original town .
The town is mostly known for its colorful ceramics and the many pina or pine cones and Testa di Moro, or the Moor Heads. We also stop at the Mother Church dedicated to San Nicolo di Bari. On the way we walk around Santo Stefano di Camastra and stop at a cafe to see what is atypical street foods.
