In the world of motorsports, Mario Gabriele Andretti needs little introduction. He is a former American racing driver of Italian ancestry. At 14, he became hooked on racing after watching Alberto Ascari compete in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. He grew up to be one of the Motorsports' most famous figures, even surpassing his hero.
Andretti is one of the most versatile racers of all time, having won races in Formula One, IndyCar, the World Sportscar Championship, and NASCAR. From 1961 to 2000, he participated in 879 races, winning 111 and earning pole positions 109 times (including all forms of Motorsports).
