Italian American Dave Righetti was named to the Team USA coaching staff for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He will be the bullpen coach on Mark DeRosa’s staff.
Righetti pitched 16 seasons in the big league, was AL Rookie of the Year, threw a no-hitter, selected for two all-star games and was named AL Reliever of the Year twice. He was pitching coach for the Giants from 2010 to 2017 and was on three World Series teams.
