Lou Bernadi, baseball coach at the US Merchant Marine Academy and IABF board member recently donated several boxes of baseball equipment to the IABF. The equipment consisted of catchers gear, baseballs, aluminum and wood bats, gloves, batting gloves and much more. The IABF will send this equipment to our friend Pascale Iannetta who operates several youth teams in Salerno, Italy including the Salerno Thunder.
The IABF will purchase more new equipment that will be added to this shipment. Lou is also on the Board of Directors for the Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Foundation which connects Major League Baseball to the U.S. Military and their families. He is an active member in both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and in the Association of Professional Ball Players of America (APBPA).
The IABF is always looking for donations like Lou's for new or slightly used baseball equipment that we can send to youth teams in Italy. Equipment is very hard to come by in Italy and there are very few outlets to purchase baseball equipment. If you know a team or club that is willing to donate equipment please let us know.
Bravo, Lou!
