Several fast-growing Italian brands are leading the charge for the imported sparkling wine category in the U.S. market, which rose 5.5% to 6.7 million cases in 2013, according to Impact Databank.
The imported sparkling wine category's two biggest brands—Freixenet USA's flagship Cava and Bacardi's Martini & Rossi—saw single-digit declines last year, but strong double-digit gains by CIV USA's Jaume Serra Cristalino Cava and Mionetto USA's namesake Prosecco, among others, helped lead the overall category upward.
