Yesterday marked the end of the 2016 Summer Olympics, and we have enjoyed cheering on our American and Italian athletes and teams. So today, our #ItalianADay recognizes a young Italian American athlete who competed this year:
Abbey D'Agostino is an Italian American middle and long-distance runner. Born in 1992 in Topsfield, Massachusetts, D'Agostino is the most-decorated Ivy League athlete in track & field and cross country running. She is also the first Dartmouth female distance runner to win an NCAA title. D'Agostino graduated with a degree in Psychology from Dartmouth College in 2014, where she won 7 individual NCAA Championships (the first Ivy League athlete to ever do so). After graduating, D'Agostino earned a sponsorship with New Balance, and is now a professional runner for the footwear company.
