Mission to the United States and Canada for Italian Justice Minister Carlo Nordio. On Monday, October 30, the Guardasigilli will meet in Washington at the Department of Justice with his U.S. counterpart, Attorney General, Merrick Garland.
In Ottawa on Wednesday, Nov. 1 and Thursday, Nov. 2, Minister Nordio is scheduled to hold working meetings with his counterpart, Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and then with the President of the Constitutional Court, Richard Wagner. Also scheduled are talks with Canadian parliamentarians of Italian origin.
The mission's last stop in New York City: on Friday, November 3, a discussion between the Guardasigilli and the President of the New York City Bar Association, Susan Kohlmann, is scheduled on the topic of the accusatory process.
On the same day, at the Italian Cultural Institute the Guardasigilli will give a lectio magistralis entitled "Contrasting anti-Semitism and racism in Italian justice."
