"With this move, we have laid the groundwork for future expansion that is a key part of our strategic plan," says Caterina Fabrizio, co-CEO, with her brother Raffaele, of textile company Dedar. She's referring to the July opening of a sales office in Connecticut of Dedar, which was founded by her parents in 1976. The launch is part of a program of expansion that calls for a direct presence in markets deemed strategic, including France, the U.K., Germany, Russia and Dubai - alongside the US.
She said Dedar, which focuses on textiles for furniture, aims to double its revenue Stateside over the next four years. The company already has 14 showrooms in the US, including in New York, but a commercial headquarters will help it "better understand the U.S. market - so it can plan its next investments."
