Could Andrea Pirlo’s successor at Juventus be ready to follow his path to Major League Soccer? Those are the rumblings out of Italy, where reports claim that Juve legend Claudio Marchisio is considering a move to MLS at the close of the current Serie A campaign.
A versatile central midfielder who has transitioned from an all-action, box-to-box role to more of a deeper-lying regista with the passage of time, Marchisio is a local boy who has spent his entire career at Juventus save a season on loan at Empoli a decade ago. “The Little Prince” has contributed greatly to the Turin club’s sustained run of domestic dominance, with Juve currently riding a streak of six consecutive Serie A championships, a period also marked by three Coppa Italia titles.
