On November 11, 1960, Joan (née Tropiano) and Stanley Tucci welcomed a son, Stanley, in Peekskill, NY. Growing up, the young boy showed a strong interest in acting and theater. After graduating from high school, Stanley enrolled in SUNY at Purchase and graduated with a bachelor's degree in drama in 1982. He moved to New York City and performed in productions both on and off-Broadway. Finally, Stanley made his film debut in the critically acclaimed Prizzi's Honor.
After playing the tough guy in a string of television and film projects, Stanley decided to write, direct and star in Big Night – a movie about Italian immigrant brothers working together to run a restaurant in New Jersey. In 1998, he starred in the television film Winchell and won a Golden Globe and Emmy Award for Best Lead Actor.
