Caterina Dattola Dawson, a Mickleton resident, has been named 2016 Italian-American Citizen of the Year by the Gloucester County Italian Heritage Commission in recognition of her efforts to keep Italian heritage alive, instilling a love for the culture and inspiring the younger generation to carry on the Italian tradition.
Dawson teaches italian and Spanish at Glassboro High School (GHS) and is a founding member and past president of the county's Italian Heritage Commission and currently holds the position of vice president.
