Italian Holiday Festival at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

Over 2500 visitors enjoyed the Italian Holiday Festival at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC on Saturday December 13, 2014. The beautiful Kogod courtyard was abuzz with the magic of traditional Italian performances and activities. "The Italian Fairy" entertained young visitors. Opera-Pop performed favorite songs. The Teatro Tascabile Di Bergamo stilt dancers amazed the crowd, and the Zampognari di Philadelphia (Italian bagpipe players) played traditional Italian holiday songs.


A mesmerizing dance entitled "White" with The Washington Ballet dancers, choreographed by Mimmo Miccolis was performed. Shannon Jones signed copies of her book "KeeKee's Big Adventures in Rome, Italy". Visitors made ornaments and mosaic holiday cards at craft stations by Casa Italiana DC.
