On September 26, the Little Italy Bocce League presented pastor Father Sal Furnari and St. Leo's Church with a $1,500 check, money collected from team entry fees during the Saint Gabriel Festival Bocce Tournament in August. The tournament this year was hosted by the Little Italy Bocce League.
The committee requested that the donation specifically be used to help defray the costs of the two holiday dinners scheduled for the homeless and needy - one near Thanksgiving on November 20th and one near Christmas on December 15th. Saint Leo's hosts these dinners annually along with the Saint Vincent Pallotti and Saint Anthony Societies, and the Hands & Hearts Ministry.
