A lunch with the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans May 15 felt like a meal with a big Italian family, complete with laughter and tears — including some from public-affairs consultant Thom Serafin.
Along with the homey pasta meal, there were self-deprecating jokes, bittersweet discussions about times gone by and some awkward moments.
