At The Italian Table, 2359 Frankfort Ave., will host nightly Feast of the Seven Fishes dinners Dec. 19–23. Each meal will feature fish or seafood prepared seven different ways. "The whole idea of having seven fish is an Italian-American thing from the Northeast, where a majority of immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries came from the coastal cities of Naples and Palermo," explains chef and owner Gina Stipo.
"Because Advent is a religious season leading up to Christmas historically, Christmas Eve was the last meal before you could start eating meat again. It was a celebration before midnight Mass. In my family, it was always a big seafood meal with baked lobster. It's just a really fun thing to do, really festive."
