Nola is from Louisiana but has Italian roots. In a 2019 Players’ Tribune article, he touched on this while explaining how he got comfortable with Philadelphia: “I started venturing out more and exploring on our off days. I have a camera, so I would go out at night and take some pictures.
It was peaceful and stress free. I’d go eat breakfast in the mornings and just walk around after with no particular destination in mind. My dad’s family is Italian, so I love Italian food. I would actually go to the Italian part of the city and write down the names of restaurants I wanted to go to.”
