The first report on tourism linked to Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena reveals that awareness of these two products – both the PDO and PGI varieties – is remarkably high among Italians, reaching 85%. Interest in themed experiences is also strong, with 62% of respondents expressing a desire to take part in them.
The economic potential for tourism connected to Modena’s balsamic tradition remains largely untapped. The reputation of the product, the beauty of its homeland, and the charm of the vinegar lofts all serve as powerful attractions. Another strength is the lack of seasonality – since balsamic vinegar is produced year-round, visitors can enjoy its story and flavors in any season, each offering a different atmosphere in the acetaie.
