Frank De Pasquale was holding court with Gov. Charlie Baker on the Hanover Street sidewalk when we arrived Monday night at Mare Oyster Crudo and Seafood Bar, a 1-week-old addition to the restaurateur's North End empire.
The governor had just dined at De Pasquale's Bricco. It seemed a fitting political encounter for the de facto leader of the North End. The 63-year-old Italian-born businessman owns four restaurants, plus a gelato shop, bakery and salumeria.
