Festa Italiana celebrates 38 years in Rockford

The city of Rockford has been celebrating Italian culture for the past 38 years at Festa Italiana. Everyone who passes through the 3-day festival is an honorary Italian for the day as they enjoy food, Italian cultural exhibits, games, music and bocce tournaments. The event boasts itself as a large family reunion.

"Everybody loves working it because they either see friends, family or whatever out here and it's like a great big family reunion," says volunteer Vicky Circelli. "I've been here for four years," says volunteer Kimberly Musso. "And I love it, I love it. Festa Italiana is family, pasta and lots of Italian beef."
