Italy's dairy industry continued its remarkable international expansion in 2025, proving that premium quality and strong global demand can overcome even a difficult geopolitical and trade environment. The sector closed the year with record exports worth €6.7 billion, while total industry revenue climbed to €28.5 billion, reinforcing dairy's position as one of the country's most valuable food industries.
The industry now represents approximately 11% of the entire Italian food manufacturing sector, confirming its strategic importance for both agriculture and exports. Even as international markets faced logistical disruptions, inflationary pressures, and new trade barriers, Italian producers demonstrated exceptional resilience by expanding into new markets and strengthening existing ones.
