La Volpe, the Italian restaurant from the owners of downtown spot Cedar Door, is opening today, September 21. Located at 201 Brazos Street, next door to its sibling restaurant, La Volpe serves Italian food with Southern American influences.
The menu from La Volpe (which means “the fox” in Italian) include starters, entrees, and small plates. For example: fried baby artichokes, white truffle lasagne made with almost 15 sheets of thin pasta, and a grilled pork chop. Everything is courtesy of chef Will Eason, who also oversees Cedar Door’s kitchen. For desserts, the Italian-Southern American thread continues with sweet tea tiramisu and charred corn panna cotta. La Volpe’s pastry chef is Amanda Neber, formerly of Foreign & Domestic and Olive & June.
