Sean Finnegan chowed down on a plate of linguine with white clam sauce and all but sighed with pleasure. It was the Traverse City man’s fourth trip to Pizzeria Piccolo Forno since the East Front Street eatery opened a few weeks ago. “I’m going to make my way around the whole board,” said Finnegan, with a nod to the chalkboard menu above the counter.
The new pizzeria in the old Happy Hog Café space offers Neapolitan-style, Sicilian and New York-style pizza, and pasta dishes like its signature Maccheroni Napoletana — classic macaroni and “gravy,” or Italian meat sauce. A “pasta of the day” features everything from stuffed shells and ravioli to tri-color fettuccine with ham, peas and mushrooms in cream sauce.
