Kansas City's Little Italy Finally Tells Its Story

By: Jody Valet

Kansas City's Little Italy was more than a neighborhood. It was home to generations of immigrant families who helped build Kansas City. Yet despite their contributions, the story of their neighborhood and the people who called it home has never been told. That is about to change.

The official trailer for The Neighborhood, the first feature-length documentary exploring the history and evolution of Kansas City's Little Italy—originally the North End, now known as Columbus Park—has been released.

Blending oral histories, rare archival footage, and modern-day visuals, the documentary captures the heartbeat of Kansas City's Little Italy. Through interviews with former and current residents, the film reveals the neighborhood's dramatic evolution from a bustling Italian enclave to what it is today.
The Neighborhood is produced by Jody Valet and directed by filmmaker Jon Trozzolo of Crossroads Media Group. The documentary will premiere later this year.
