Boise's Italian American Club celebrated its 40th year and dedicating new bocce ball courts Wednesday night. The games began on the new courts with a wine toast at Boise's Municipal Park. The original courts were built back in 2008 when there was one league with eight teams. Now the group has grown to 3 leagues with 46 teams playing in three city parks.
"It definitely marks the Italian American culture and the Italian community's contribution and our gratitude to the city of Boise," said Bruce Fabbi, a member of Italian American Club. "And we dedicate these courts to all the people in the city of Boise and their guests for a long, long time."
