In a large Italian-American family, says Christopher Di Mezzo, there’s a tradition of learning to speak your mind without making other people too angry. It’s one of the ways growing up in Rome has helped him get off to a strong start in his career in politics.
Di Mezzo earlier this month became the Vermont state director of former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. He took the job after about 18 months as communications director for the Vermont Democratic Party.
