Whole 30, Italian, soul food and ice cream eateries open in Knoxville

By: Mary Constantine

It's exciting to see Knoxville's culinary scene continue to grow. The city is bustling with places to dine, and this week three more restaurants opened. Not far behind are a few eateries still in the construction stage. Simon Hall of Simon Hall Private Chef opened his restaurant Monday. The professional chef is known for his healthy cuisine, something he amassed through his catering service and meal prep business.

Now that he has a restaurant, his plans are to adhere to the Whole 30 concept, which is a health-conscious approach to eating that essentially detoxes the body. "It's a 30-day program that is sugar free, grain free, no legumes, no soy, no dairy, nothing processed and no alcohol may be consumed," Hall said. That is the same concept with which his meal prep business operates.
