So far, so good for Gov. Mike Pence's trip to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Pence announced Thursday two Italian-based companies have chosen the state of Indiana as the site for their North American operations. In all, more than 100 new jobs will be created in the coming years.
The first company is Brescia, Italy-based OMR Automotive — a tier 1 automotive supplier for the Fiat Group. Pence joined company executives for an announcement Thursday morning in Detroit. The new $10 million, 43,000 square-foot facility will be based in Speedway, Indiana. Pence said OMR Automotive will create up to 60 new jobs by 2016.
