Often time we think of the job of an Ambassador as static in a nation’s capital, within Embassy walls and with countless meetings with the host government. But the job of an Ambassador is also about getting to know the country he or she is posted to. This is exactly what Italian Ambassador to the US Armando Varricchio has done since his arrival in Washington DC in early 2016.

The Ambassador has traveled extensively around the country and in 2018 he visited 9 states and met governors, state representatives, local Italian and Italian-American communities, Italian companies, associations, students. His travels around the US show the strong bond of friendship between our two countries. A bond that has roots in our common heritage, our trade relations, and the rich cultural and business collaborations, spanning many areas.
