History
Friends of Carver was established 38 years ago by two parents, Arva Moore Parks and Gail Payne, who are to this day, pillars in our community. The goal of this annual event is to raise funds for educational initiatives and enrichment programs for the G. W. Carver Schools.

The responsibility for coordinating the Friends of Carver Fundraiser event is shared between the G.W. Carver Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the G.W. Carver Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Members from these two parent organizations work together as the Friends of Carver Planning Committee, and are responsible for every aspect of the event's planning and execution.

Theme
The 38th Annual Friends of Carver Fundraiser Cocktail and Silent Auction will be held at the beautiful Coral Gables Museum on Friday, April 12th from 7-11pm. We will be honoring "Excellence in Public Education" and celebrating "Italian Culture", while highlighting the Italian International Studies Programs.

Guests
This adults-only event, is a favorite "must attend" tradition for G.W. Carver Schools parents, teachers and staff, as well as members of the community. Guests attending this year's event will enjoy an Italian-inspired evening of elegance, filled with lively entertainment, fabulous auction items, delicious hors d'oeuvres and smooth cocktails.

The Friends of Carver Planning Committee has partnered with the Consolato Generale d'Italia in Miami, Organization for the Development of Italian Studies (ODLI), Dante Alighieri Miami, Italian International Parents Association (IIPA) and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Southeast (IACC), to help market and promote the 38th Annual Friends of Carver Fundraiser Cocktail and Silent Auction to the broader South Florida community.

Cocktails will be served compliments of Martini & Rossi, a subsidiary of Bacardi U.S.A. Butlered hors d'oeuvres will be served courtesy of TiramesU, Spris, Anacapri, and Serafina at the Dream South Beach Hotel.
