Cagliari in Sardinia takes the top spot in the new edition of the Climate Livability Index in Italy. Naples and Salerno, both in Campania, come in second and third, followed by Brindisi in Puglia and Agrigento in Sicily. All of these cities are along some of Italy's stunning coastlines and have benefited from summer breezes and only a few rainy days in a year that was the hottest on record both in Italy and globally.
The analysis is based on research conducted across 108 provincial capitals, comparing 17 parameters from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2024. In total, over 400 million data points were analyzed with the help, for the first time, of artificial intelligence.
