All road trips come to an end at some point. On Saturday, The best of car calls has been broadcasted for the last time on WBUR. Car call Started in 1977 as a local show on WBUR, with brothers Tom and Ray Magliozzi from Cambridge behind the microphones. A decade later, the show went national and became a huge and enduring hit for NPR.
Meanwhile, the Magliozzis offered their auto mechanic advice to callers and listeners, delivering – more notably – an endless supply of warm wit, curiosity, silliness, and laughter. Now, almost seven years after Tom Magliozzi passed away at the age of 77, his little brother Ray joined the WBUR Weekend edition think about that Car call Epoch.
