Leave the gun, take the cannoli, and see “The Godfather” in 4K later this year. In honor of the 50th anniversary of Francis Ford Coppola’s award-winning film “The Godfather,” Paramount Pictures announced that the acclaimed film will have a limited release theater run this year. Starting on Feb. 25, the film will run exclusively Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres in the U.S. and internationally.
All three films in “The Godfather” trilogy were also restored under the direction of Coppola and will be made available on 4K Ultra HD for the first time ever on March 22, 2022. Under Coppola’s direction, the Paramount team spent thousands of hours making sure that each frame was meticulously elevated while maintaining the original look and feel of the films. Hours were spent finding the best possible resolution, repairing rips, stains and tears in the film, and color correcting.
