As part of Italy's participation in the 2019 Satellite Exposition in Washington, the President of the Italian Space Agency, Giorgio Saccoccia, spoke during a conference organized at the Embassy of Italy to present the governance framework for the space sector in Italy. The conference was opened by the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Armando Varricchio, and allowed to highlight the prospects for further consolidation of the Italian presence in the sector, also thanks to an increasingly effective international collaboration with NASA and, in the European framework, with the European Space Agency.

During the conference, President Saccoccia emphasized the increasingly important role of the private sector and the need for an ever greater collaboration with the public sector for exploration and research activities, but above all, to increase the positive effects on the real economy, security and technological developments.
