The SF Gate quoted me saying this yesterday and since then I've been asked if I was kidding. Yet, there is no joke about it. People identify India, Israel and Ireland as the IT countries. But there's a fourth "I" for high-tech: Italy. The Italian Innovation Day and the whole "Italy Tech Week" showcase this reality.
Often it's difficult to understand what is occurring in Italy. The public discourse is characteristically geared toward the short term, but let me here focus on the long-term perspective.
