"Little Italy San Jose" Park

Little Italy San Jose has launched a petition to change the name of the park that borders our Italian business district to "Little Italy San Jose Park". The current name of this particular park is the Guadalupe River Park East Confluence and the adjacent park next to the SAP Pavilion is referred to the "Arena Green" would remain the same.

Little Italy San Jose 501c3 Non-Profit has long been a stakeholder/advocate for this park and is the current location of the annual Little Italy Festival that draws 20,000 people as well as the location of 32 banners of prominent Italian Americans from Santa Clara County that are located on light poles that surround the park.

The land for this current park was once home to hundreds of homes owned by early Italian American settlers to San Jose and those homes were demolished to pave way for this park. This renaming would honor those Italian American families, help create a recognizable identity for this park and solidify and expand the Little Italy San Jose district. Little Italy has a gateway arch, permanent Cultural center and museum under construction across from this park, is home to numerous Italian businesses and has been working with the City to have bocce courts and a monthly farmers market in this hopefully renamed "Little Italy San Jose Park"

We need your support for this initial step to show community support in our park renaming proposal to the City of San Jose!
