Saturday, October 14th, 3:00 PM - Light Refreshments Will Be Served - Italian American Museum - 155 Mulberry Street (Corner of Grand and Mulberry Streets) - New York, NY 10013
Travel Reporter Valarie D’Elia will talk about her Italian roots and how they continue to shape her career as a video journalist. The talk will be followed by a special screening of her upcoming PBS feature "The Making of a Maestro, from Castelfranco to Carnegie Hall". The short film is about a global music figure who shares roots in the same small Italian village as Val. The piece takes an intimate look at the backstory of Sir Antonio Pappano, the conductor of both the Royal Opera in London and Rome’s symphony orchestra.
Pappano is making his debut at Carnegie Hall in late October of 2017 as part of a 4-city tour in America. A visually stunning and highly personal tale about the universality of music, the immigrant work ethic and the pull of our roots, which inspires one to do both great and small things.
Saturday, October 14th, 3:00 PM. RSVP Code: MM1014. Suggested donation of $10 per person. For reservations, please call the Italian American Museum at 212.965.9000,
