Ross Township renames park after Bruno Sammartino

Ross Township honored Bruno Sammartino on Friday by renaming a park in honor of the late pro wrestling star, who lived in the northern Pittsburgh suburb for more than 50 years. "My dad would be ecstatic about this, so it's a very, very nice honor for us. Very humbling," said Darryl Sammartino, who attended the ceremony at the former Sangree Park with his mother, Carol.

Sammartino recalled playing baseball and riding his bicycle as a child at the park that now has a sign with his father's name and picture on it. "My dad ran tens of thousands of miles on these roads, and that's the truth. He lived here for 58 years," Sammartino said.
