The Toscano Extravecchio is now available to U.S. retailers. Avanti Cigar Co., the U.S. distributor for Toscano, is now offering the Toscano Extravecchio for sale to U.S. retailers. Toscano is an Italian cigar maker, meaning its cigars are quite different than traditional premium cigars.
Italian cigars typically use fire-cured tobaccos and the Extravecchio is no exception. The company says it uses a Kentucky-seed wrapper grown in Valtiberina, Tuscany while the filler tobaccos come from Italy—Lazio and Tuscany—and Tennessee. One other difference between traditional Toscanos and premium cigars is that Toscanos do not use a binder. Furthermore, the cigars—which typically measure 6 1/4 x 36 with tapered ends—are able to be cut in half at the middle portion, allowing for one longer cigar to become two shorter ones.
