The Italian Spotlight at the Newport Beach Film Festival

Ready for one of the most fun events of the season? The Newport Beach Film Festival is only 2 weeks away!

Every year the Festival brings to Southern California over 52,000 attendees, for a short break from the daily routine. Some love staying for the entire week, some others just stay for a night. But all of them enjoy the unique atmosphere of Newport during the Film Festival!
They have fun with screenings, red carpet galas, international spotlights, nightly receptions, fashion shows, music performances, and get involved in industry seminars and post screening Q&As with directors, screenwriters and cinematographers.

Interested in experiencing this special event? The 13th edition of the Festival is about to start, and will run from April 26th until May 3rd. Set in beautiful Orange County, a few blocks away from spectacular coastline and less than an hour from Hollywood, the Newport Beach Film festival is just a perfect occasion to enjoy art, culture and fun.

With a first-class international film program, this film festival is worldly renown, and is about to bring to California a fresh and diverse collection of over 450 films from 50 countries of the world.
And the part of it we like most is –of course- the Italian Spotlight. Every year the Festival works as a showcase for exclusive screenings of Italian cinema. This year's titles also include 'Apartment in Athens', 'Terraferma' and the short film 'Grandma Must Get Dry'.

But the 'star' of the Festival will be 'Immature' (2011, Italy), by director Paolo Genovese. Orange County will host the premiere of the highly acclaimed film that centers Giorgio, Lorenzo, Piero, Luisa, Virgilio and Francesca. Years ago, in 12th grade, they were high-spirited friends. Now, due to a technical error, they all have to meet again to retake a major high school exam... 20 years later. "A wonderful modern-day Italian comedy, with great performances and exceptional direction - it is a true audience pleaser," stated Gregg Schwenk, CEO of the Newport Beach Film Festival.

The Spotlight film 'Immature' will screen on Tuesday, May 1st at 7:45pm at Edwards Big Newport (300 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach, CA 92660), and will be followed by a festive post screening gala.

Italy lovers, you can't miss this! A Celebration of Italian culture, fashion and music that will take place at Fashion Island, located across Newport Center Drive from the theaters. The evening will include 12 of top restaurants serving signature tastings, multiple DJs, live entertainment and a special performance by Orange County Aerial Arts, as well as Fashion Island retail partners 7 For All Mankind, EVER and True Religion, which will offer special in-store promotions and entertainment.

So invite you friends and come enjoy this evening of fun! Culture, cuisine, open-bar, and exciting entertainment are waiting for you. L'Italo-Americano is proud to be a supporter of the Festival. Hurry up, tickets are selling fast! Buy yours at www.NewportBeachFilmFest.com
