On paper, they're an admittedly odd couple: Tony Bennett, the legendary jazz and pop singer, and Lady Gaga, the quirky queen of modern rock and outré fashions. He's 88 years old, she's 28. Tony strolls on stage in a dapper tuxedo, she's shown up before in a dress made of meat.
But then there are the things they have in common: Big, powerhouse voices and a compass aimed at the emotional heart of a song. A love of the Great American Songbook and the songwriters within it. A shared Italian-American heritage and all the passion that entails.
