Dean Martin was a beloved American entertainer who was so filled with charisma and an incredible stage presence that he was nicknamed, "The King of Cool." He was born in 1917 in Steubenville, OH and actually started out with a passion for boxing. He gave that up though and started singing with local bands but it wasn't until he teamed up with comedian Jerry Lewis that his career took off.
He became a popular actor and his fame increased with his involvement in the "Rat Pack" alongside greats such as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. He enjoyed an amazing career and left an incredible legacy, which is the focus of the Dean Martin Festival that takes place every year in Martin's hometown of Steubenville, OH.
