A standout midfielder with extensive experience in Italy's youth national team system, Margherita Giubilato, will join the Kansas soccer team for the 2019 season, it was announced Wednesday "Margherita is a very dynamic attacking midfielder," said Francis. "She is quick and technically very good on the ball and comes to KU with extensive playing experience at a very high level and that level of women's soccer in Italy has made massive improvements in the last few years.
Margherita will be a great addition to our midfield and will challenge our returners to get on the field right away." Giubilato has been called up to play with Italy's Youth National Teams at the U16, U17 and U19 levels. She has also spent the last two years as a member of A.S.D Verona Calcio, which plays in Women's Serie A, Italy's highest female league.
