The independently produced documentary film "Men of the Cloth" will premiere in Rhode Island Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Showcase Cinemas Warwick. Directed by former menswear fashion editor Vicki Vasilopoulos, it presents an intimate look at three Italian master tailors in the twilight of their careers. The film follows Nino Corvato, Joe Centofanti and Checchino Fonticoli. Corvato runs his own shop in New York City, while Centofanti worked in Philadelphia until his death in 2011. Fonticoli is working in his native Penne, Italy.
The Rhode Island Sewing Network-sponsored event will also include a post-screening Q&A with Vasilopoulos along with Philip Sawyer, a designer and tailoring instructor at Rhode Island School of Design, and Marc Streisand of Marc Allen Fine Clothiers, which has locations in Providence and Newport.
